General Site Use Questions
I have hopefully designed the site to be relatively straight forward to get around. Across the top of each page is our main menu. This breaks the site down into seven sections. Once in the section you can use the menu on the left to navigate inside the section. You can return to the homepage anytime by choosing the "Home" button the top menu.
I use a special script to view the images, which should work in all browsers except for some older browsers. When viewing our images here are some helpful tips. You can press the "Esc"ape key at any time to exit viewing the images. By pressing the forward and back "arrow" keys you can navigate through each image in order.
I am always looking for new contributions to the site. I am looking for stories, photographs or anything else you may want to contribute. Please use the contact page to let me know what you might be interested in contributing.
I use Paypal for our Payment provider. You can use your Paypal account if you have one or you can Pay through Paypal using your VISA, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover Card. We also accept Postal Money Orders.
All orders are shipped via Canada Post. You will be given the choice during the checkout process on the Service (speed) of your order. ONLY Expedited and Xpress Post Shipping Options provide a trackable service, all other services are NON-TRACKABLE. Shipping charges are based upon the packaged weight of your order. Thus, shipping heavier items costs more than lightweight items Note that the weight includes internal packaging and the box itself, according to Canada Post regulations.
The easiest way to know what the shipping charges will be is to put the items into your shopping cart and then proceed through the checkout. The exact shipping charges will be displayed before you are required to enter a credit card number.
We will ship all orders freight prepaid, but you should check with your local authorities about any additional fees which you may need to pay on the delivery-end. For order shipped via a trackable service you will be e-mailed a tracking number. Note for US customers using a trackable service you will need to track your order using both Canada Post (www.canadapost.ca) and USPS (www.usps.com)
Shipments to international destinations are subject to Customs & Duties and may be assessed VAT taxes by your local jurisdiction. Duties, taxes and brokerage fees on items are established by your local government and is always the responsibility of the recipient. The duty is determined by the value of the merchandise and other complicated factors and is determined by your local Customs office. Our shipping systems are automated, so we are unable to under-declare the value of parcels.
Under most circumstances your order will be processed, packaged, and mailed within three business days.
If, according to www.canadapost.ca Delivery Confirmation records, your order is not shown as having been delivered within four weeks we will replace your order at no cost to you. You must report lost parcels within two months from the time that you placed your order.
Delivery Confirmation does not cover theft from your mailbox or any other loss after Canada Post/USPS has confirmed delivery. You should ensure that there is a safe place for parcels to be delivered to your address. If you are not home, Canada Post/USPS will leave a notification in your mailbox instructing you on how to receive your package at your local Post Office location.
I am sorry, but the systems do not allow us to make any changes to orders once they have been finalized. This is a technical limitation. So I cannot combine multiple orders into one shipment, I cannot add or delete items, and usually I cannot cancel an order. (Sometimes I can cancel an entire order, but this is not always possible.) Please carefully review your order before finalizing it so that you avoid delays or problems.
You will actually be billed in CAD Dollars and your bank will perform the currency conversion to your local currency. Our display of prices in your local currency is intended to be a convenience only, and since your bank will determine the final conversion applicable to your account the final billed amount may vary slightly. Some banks will add a currency conversion fee. This is not a fee that we add and you should contact your bank to see what the fee might be.
It is possible that our inventory records may be in error and that we may not have the item in stock. If this happens, we will automatically issue you a credit to your credit card.
