Formed as a Bomber Reconnaissance unit at Sea Island, British Columbia on May 3, 1943. The squadron moved to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia in July and flew Canso A aircraft on East Coast anti-submarine duty until disbanded at Torbay, Newfoundland on June 15, 1945.
